Ancient village, abandoned after a terrible earthquake in 1887, reborn by the passion of the artists who chose it as an open-air laboratory.

Destroyed by a violent earthquake at the end of the 19th century, this town gradually emptied itself and was reborn in the 1950s thanks to a group of artists, philosophers and artisans who renovated the old houses built around the castle, transforming them into their new ones residences and art studios.

Thus the village, among open-air workshops, taverns and colorful shops, has come back to life and even today travelers are subjected to its great charm.

The recovered ancient ruins of Bussana Vecchia are beautiful to experience, even if only in one day.

A few hours are enough to discover the whole village and admire it among B & Bs, restaurants and cafes where you can meet and chat with the many artisans and artists who animate the village.

Walking through the streets of this ancient town, among flowers and vines that frame the ancient stone houses, it is easy to come across artistic touches, such as paintings, murals, colored chairs hanging on the wall, transformed into flower boxes or statues set in the walls.
